Introduction, R&D, propagation of Beladi (TBK) tree in the US
The Beladi is the DNA of the trees of Bechealeh
Camp TIME is our future, our children:
Those who immigrated
and those who stayed
They helped introduce the Beladi (TBK) olive tree
and its propagation in the US
They helped Lebanon win 4 silver medals
in the LA international olive oil competition
with the Beladi of the Willani olive grove
they are ready to distribute it in the US
They just produced these first
Bag in Boxes of olive oil
made with Beladi
as a model for their export
Lebanese farmer to US farmer
Take back & give back to the rural community in the Mother country
Lebanese growers can
survive their current crisis
with our 17-year ongoing plan
to revive the agriculture
in the mountains of Lebanon,
the planting of the land
with Lebanese olive trees,
the picking of its olives,
the production of olive oil
and its sale to the US
TIME olive oil BiB made with Beladi direct (no in-between) from Leb farmer to US farmer
The olive tree yields 2 Bag-in-Boxes made with Beladi
A camp TIME team of 4 is able to care for
a grove of 1,000 olive trees 4 months a year
in the spring (Mar & Apr) and in the fall (Oct & Nov)
and produce 2,000 Bag-in-Boxes
for sale from Lebanese farmer to US farmer
Half of the sales go directly to the team of four ($16,000);
the other half to the olive grove owner ($10,000) and to the olive press ($5,000)
The Soldier-Farmer core of camp TIME getting half of the sale
Nayla Moawad had a wish:
For the men in the villages to stay with their families
and make a living from the olive tree
Her wish has become our mission
and we decided to support the soldiers who are underpaid ($50/mth)
and train them to care for the olive groves in their village
and make a decent living from it
The Soldier-Farmer could become the core of the camp TIME team
which is modeled after military service & discipline
Agricultural growth & autonomy; Village after Village
Team after team, Grove after Grove, Village after Village,
the Soldier-Farmer & his Family will make
the Rural Community strong and independent
thru its Agriculture, Economy, Mediterranean identity and olive trees
If Lebanon would produce 25% of its olive oil potential and could sell it to the US for 100MM,
13,000 Soldier-Farmers will be employed 4 months/year and generate 52MM for their families,
32MM for the land owners who will have their groves cared for, and 16MM for the olive presses
